The design for this residence depicts simultaneous connection and separation, achieved by the simple use of contrasting colors and volumes that suggest a split white shell, with a dark inner world.
The house exploits the slope of the plot, by creating a semi-basement level that contains the supportive functions that otherwise would have been on the ground level.
The simple L-shape layout with a south facing courtyard, has a modest size plot, yet it allows for maximum outdoor areas. The interior of the house contains a double height family space that connects vertically and horizontally all areas, amplifying the scale and allowing for visual continuity beyond one space.
